      History & Architecture

      The Fürstenhof was built in 1770 as a home for the Löhr banking family in the style of a classicist city palace. In 1865, the Serpentine Hall was constructed using serpentine, a metamorphic natural stone around two million years old, making it unique in the world. The Art Nouveau facade was restored in 2022, and the hotel has been operated as a hotel since 1890.
